Free Floating Attachment Placement Guide

You have the option to utilize the 18 inch loop as a cushion insert for the ottoman or as a free floating spot treatment tool. In addition, the double loop can be used to spot treat areas of elevated concern.


To spot treat, place free floating attachment(s) over specific area. The double loop will work best to target joints such as knees, ankles, shoulders, elbows, and wrist as well as head where as the 18 inch loop will work best for addressing regional concerns. This will work best for targeting upper legs, abdominal area, or chest area. 


The following are examples of attachment application to target ares of concern on the clients body. Other applications can and should be explored as needed by each individual client.

  • Head

    Attachment: 

    • Double Loop

    Intensity (Guidelines but should be based off of client's tolerance) :

    • Low

    Placement Examples: 

    • Joint at back of head, top of head, or front of head, held under jaw

    Cautions/Considerations:

    • May ping in sinus or teeth cavities, causing pain

  • Neck

    Attachment: 

    • Double Loop

    Intensity (Guidelines but should be based off of client's tolerance) :

    • Low

    Placement Examples:

  • Shoulders

    • Clamp on area of concern or hold in hand
  • Chest

    Attachment: 

    • 18" Loop
    • Large Mat

    Intensity (Guidelines but should be based off of client's tolerance) :

    • As Comfortable

    Placement Examples: 

    • 18” loop hanging from neck down front or layer across chest 
    • Mat laid under chest or in upper chair cushion

    Cautions/Considerations:

    • Too much time/intensity here can mobilize cholesterol or mucus, resulting in a couch
  • Upper Abdomen

    Attachment: 

    • 18" Loop
    • Large Mat

    Intensity (Guidelines but should be based off of client's tolerance) :

    • As Comfortable
